Things You’ll Need:

Self Adhesive Mailing Labels or

• Printer paper, scissors, and glue

• Printer

• Word Processing software

Step 1

Purchase mailing labels specifically designed for the printer you will use to print your free address labels. For example, certain labels may work better on ink jet or laser printers. For totally free address labels, print your address labels on regular printer paper or card stock. Cut labels apart as needed and glue onto envelopes. Use a glue stick instead of liquid glue to reduce mess, smear, and color fade.

Step 2

Download a template for your unique address labels from one of the suggested websites in the Resource section attached to this article or use your own software. Complimentary software such as Microsoft Works Word Processor has a label template you can use that allows you to insert your own images. Be sure the template you download is compatible with the number, usually four or five digits such as 8160, if you intend to use purchased mailing labels.

Step 3

Insert the name and address you want to appear on the address labels using your keyboard or input device.

Step 4

Place at least one sheet of blank mailing labels into your printer’s paper feed tray. You may use paper here instead if you intend to cut and paste.

Step 5

Choose the print option and collect your labels if you downloaded a template. If you are using complimentary software such as MS Works Word Processor, you will need to click on print, then page setup first. Choose a template number compatible with the number on your box of labels, such as 8160 for example.
